Grand Illumination Parade

Festivities begin with the Grand Illumination of the Olde Towne Portsmouth and downtown Norfolk skylines, when 100,000 voices along the Grand Illumination parade route will take part in a community countdown. The skylines stretch nearly 20 miles to light up our favorite holidays. The illumination signals the start of the parade in Norfolk, filled with festive and lighted floats, marching bands, giant balloons, decorated vehicles, dancers and, of course, Santa Claus.
